We offer flat-fee US national phase filing of PCT patent applications for foreign law firms, in-house legal departments, and international applicants. Our firm (Biotech Beach Law PC) is managed by Registered US Patent Attorney Raymond Wagenknecht having more than 20 years of experience. We have additional scientific expertise in life sciences, medical devices, and biotechnology.

Professional Fee: $1850 plus USPTO fees

Our standard US national phase entry fee includes:

Filing the national-phase application
Filing an inventor declaration (if needed)
Preparing an Information Disclosure Statement (IDS) based on the PCT International Search Report
Routine amendments to remove multiple claim dependencies
Adding standard USPTO specification headings
Monitoring the application throughout the patent process
Forwarding USPTO communications without additional reporting charges

Additional work outside this scope is quoted separately.

About Us

We've been filing US National Phase Patent Applications under the PCT for over 20 years. The work is handled by Raymond Wagenknecht, a Registered US Patent Attorney and managing attorney of Biotech Beach Law PC. Approximately half of our clients are located outside of the United States. Our technical areas of expertise include the life sciences, medical device, biotechnology, chip fabrication equipment, various computer hardware systems, and mechanical devices.

This is an informational webpage for Biotech Beach Law PC - a US Patent & Trademark law firm based in San Diego, California. Raymond Wagenknecht is the managing Patent Attorney. All work is performed by us! It is not farmed out to foreign services.

Do you only work with law firms?

We can work directly with the applicant/inventor or law firm. We do not work with unlicensed agents. We are not a referral service and do not partner with referral services.

How long have you been in business?

Raymond Wagenknecht has been a Registered US Patent Attorney for more than 20 yrs. He formed Biotech Beach Law PC in 2005. We thank our clients for their continued support!

How many US patents have you obtained?

Over 200 - The number keeps growing! We cannot guarantee success of your project but we are good at what we do.

We are a law firm - Will you send reciprocal work back?

We cannot guarantee this but do like to expand our network of available patent attorneys for our US clients. We do not work with referral services.

How do we get started? Do I send an order?

Merely send us the PCT publication number (WO...) and we will run a quick conflicts check to be sure we don't already represent competing subject matter for another client. We'll confirm our availability usually in a few business days - often the next business day.

How much notice do you need to file? Can you file today/tomorrow?

Please do NOT send us an order to enter US national phase without checking on our availability. We will try to accommodate you as best we can but need to run a conflicts check first. We do not accept same or next-day filings through this webpage. We are not engaged as your attorney by sending a request. We will respond whether we can or cannot help.

Do you charge for reporting? Are there hidden charges?

Our US entry fee includes forwarding all USPTO communications at no additional cost. Responding to Office Action rejections is billed separately. We can provide estimates as needed to assist with your budgeting.

Do you provide suggestions on how to overcome rejections? Is this extra?

We can provide as much or as little assistance as needed. Our flat rate entry is for forwarding communications with due dates only. We can provide comments at our hourly rate. This allows us to offer as much or as little assistance as needed.

Can we have a discount?

No - we are priced very competitively.

Can you file directly in the US without a PCT application?

Can you help respond to US Office Actions under the Hague Convention for a Design?
